Terre des hommes Kosovo is implementing the regional project "Multidisciplinary approach to preventing and responding to violence in schools - CARING 2.0" (March 2025 - February 2027), as part of a consortium and in partnership with organizations operating in 5 countries such as Romania, Greece, Croatia, Bulgaria and Kosovo, and financially supported by the European Commission, within the CERV program. Tdh Kosovo is implementing the project in 8 schools in Kosovo located in municipalities of Prishtina, Ferizaj and Mitrovica.

The overall aim of the project is to contribute to the strengthening and functionality of integrated child protection systems through a multidisciplinary approach to preventing and responding to violence in schools. The project places a particular emphasis on gender dimensions and the meaningful participation of children, especially those in vulnerable situations.

 

To address these needs, the specific objectives of the project are formulated as follows:

  • To assess the specific social and gender norms that promote and maintain different types of violence against children, including gender dimensions, in schools as implementation settings.

  • To build the capacities of educational and psychosocial staff and school management to prevent and respond in a timely and safe manner to violence against children in schools, and to meaningfully engage children in a supportive and inclusive school environment.

  • To improve the knowledge and skills of children and young people, aged 12-16, to identify peer support and positive social change in response to cases of violence against children, including gender dimensions.

  • To strengthen multidisciplinary capacities between local/regional public authorities and service providers to jointly prevent and respond to violence against children in a trauma-informed manner.

  • To facilitate knowledge generation, exchange of good practices, opportunities for strengthening the capacities of peers to prevent and respond to violence against children in school settings.

 

Duration: 24 months
