MoU Signed to Boost Child Protection Mechanisms

Representatives

As part of the project “Digital Platform for Reporting and Combating Violence against Children,” funded by the European Union and managed by the EU Office in Kosovo, a cooperation agreement was signed between Terre des hommes Kosovo (TdhK), the Coalition of NGOs for Child Protection (KOMF), and the Office for Good Governance within the Office of the Prime Minister.

This agreement marks an important step towards strengthening mechanisms for the protection of children from all forms of abuse and violence, with a focus on improving children’s access to safe and easy reporting.

Within the framework of this project, the parties will engage in the development and operationalization of a child-friendly digital platform, enabling children to report cases of violence and abuse in a safe and reliable manner. The platform will function in support of the Child Helpline, as a mechanism foreseen under the Law on Child Protection, aiming to enhance children’s access to safe and accessible reporting channels.

The agreement also foresees the development of standards and procedures for handling such cases, the training of professionals, and the strengthening of inter-institutional cooperation, based on the principles of the best interest of the child, confidentiality, and non-discrimination.

This partnership aims to contribute to building a safer, more accountable, and accessible system for all children in Kosovo.

This activity is implemented within the framework of the project “Digital Platform for Reporting and Combating Violence against Children,” funded by the European Union and managed by the EU Office in Kosovo, and implemented by Terre des hommes Kosovo in partnership with the Coalition of NGOs for Child Protection in Kosovo (KOMF).
